The Election Commission postponed the elections in Punjab
The Election Commission of Pakistan has withdrawn the date and schedule of the Punjab Assembly elections.
The Election Commission has postponed the elections and set a new date for the elections on October 8.
According to the Election Commission, the election will be held on April 30. The President has been informed about the decision to postpone the elections.
The Election Commission has said in an announcement that in the light of the reports submitted by the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Interior, and law enforcement agencies, the Commission has come to the conclusion that transparent, fair, and peaceful elections are necessary for the current situation. It is not possible to hold and now these elections will be held on October 8.
A politician from South Punjab and former member of the National Assembly Jamshed Dasti has announced to join Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf.
He was earlier a part of the Pakistan Peoples Party.
With the news of his joining the party by PTI, it was said that he has expressed full confidence in the real freedom movement of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, the political program of the movement and the leadership of Chairman Imran Khan.
During the joint session of Parliament, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said that the constitution prohibits holding elections in 90 days. Isn't there a ban on holding fair and transparent elections? We are not running away from the election.
He further said, "We want the assembly elections to be held together and be fair." Will there be a level playing field in the National Assembly elections after the elections in the province?
The Interior Minister says that the Honorable Chief Justice has said that if there is an attempt to stop the election, we will intervene. Sir, why would you order interference, you have ordered elections in Punjab. We have 11 hundred candidates who applied to get tickets.
Addressing the Chief Justice, he said, 'We recognize your powers in the Constitution. Is this the responsibility of the Parliament or the political parties only to ensure that the elections are fair and transparent? Is it unconstitutional and illegal to put our opinion before you? '
He further said that 'this kind of work will bring anarchy in the country, can't you think about it?'
